Onward to adventure

I know I haven’t posted in a while, and I feel horrible about it because I have no excuse on my end. However, I am still here, and I’m actively planning various post-holiday adventures as I type this.

I’d love to go on a scenic hike somewhere like Maine or Colorado, but my most recent trips have shown that I have neither the stamina nor the mobility for such adventures. Heck, I got physically stuck in my last airline seat, so that method of transportation may be out for a while.

However, I cannot run a “Travel photography” blog just sitting in my living room. I know, I have been trying to since my summer trip to Disney wiped my travel budget for the rest of the year. So, maybe, closer, more budget friendly destinations are in order. I’ve never been to a “Six Flags” before (that I can remember anyway).

Nothing is set in stone yet, but if the coming year goes as planned, I’ll go on at least one trip per month. For instance, The Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach opens its new South Building on January 14th (a Sunday), so I can take a few days to explore the rest of the city’s attractions.

Meanwhile, ZooTampa has scheduled the reopening of their newly refurbished Outback themed area (sponsored by a certain steakhouse chain) for March 24th (a Sunday), so again I can easily schedule a few days around the zoo AND Busch Gardens. #TwoBirdsOneStone

I’m leaning on making February a “break month” to catch my breath and, of course, catch up on bills. I may try going to Disney in March before it gets too hot, unless I go to Sanford, Sarasota or even St Augustine instead!!

Right now, these are just ideas. They can and likely will change over the coming months as my interests (and finances) shift over the coming months. So, we press onwards into the excitement of a new year, and onto adventure…
